Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly Mohammed Al-Arabi Ould Khalifa said that the western powers suppose they are the sole owner of science in the world, and termed monopolization of science as a clear violation of other countries\' rights. Speaking at a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian Parliament\'s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi in Algiers on Sunday, Khalifa voiced his opposition to scientific monopolization adopted by certain western countries to prevent independent states from accessing new technologies. The Algerian speaker underlined that Algiers supports Iran’s nuclear rights because it regards nuclear monopoly as a kind of injustice and a breach of the rights of other countries to development. A senior Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Boroujerdi Saturday left Tehran for Algiers for an official visit to the Muslim country. In mid-April, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced, \"Perhaps over 100 world politicians have frankly announced their expectations from Iran in their talks with me and said \'we know why the world bullying powers are afraid of Iran so much\'.\" In recent years, Iranian scientists and experts have taken wide leaps in scientific, medical and technological fields. In February, Ahmadinejad hailed the young people of the country for their astonishing scientific and technological progress, and said Iran\'s scientific production has increased more than seven times during the last 7 years. \"Iran achieves scientific productions, glory and success on a daily basis and the country\'s scientific production has grown 7 times during the last 7 years,\" Ahmadinejad said, addressing a ceremony to honor Iran\'s academic elites in Tehran at the time. He appreciated the Iranian young people for their efforts and achievements in technological and scientific fields, and said, \"If a nation decides to make progress, God will facilitate its move.\"
