GCC Secretary General, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, has stressed GCC countries\' keenness on supporting scientific and technological research projects, promoting creativity and innovation to enhance the concept of knowledge-based economy, and investing intellectual property rights, including patents for sustainable development. Al-Zayani made the remarks as he attended the first training program on patents, currently underway at GCC headquarters, organized by GCC Training Center of Intellectual Property in collaboration with World Intellectual Property Organization Academy (WIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He explained that this program is the result of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the U.S. Administration, represented by USPTO, and GCC States in the field of scientific research.
