NASA runs rings around Saturn in amazing display

Cassini spacecraft captures the dramatic rings surrounding Saturn NASA has revealed a set of amazing photographs taken by a spacecraft circling Saturn. The Cassini spacecraft, which is currently in orbit around the massive ringed

planet, took the picture in 2012.
The images show a mixture of bright constellations, particularly a tiny pixel shining bright in the sky between the dramatic rings of ice and rock.
That pixel is in fact the hot and toxic world of Venus.
The picture was taken in November when Cassini was in Saturn's shadow, about 500,000 miles above the planet and about 880,000,000 miles from Venus.
Another image of the sun was taken on 4 January, and shows the star burning bright.
The $3.2 billion Cassini craft is expected to study Saturn and its many moons until at least 2017, after which no further missions to the planet are planned.
