The Dubai Silicon Oasis, DSO, the integrated free zone technology park, is set to showcase the latest civilian applications of the drone technology in Dubai at its 18th TechForum.
To be held at the DSO headquarters from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, the event aims to gather IT professionals, academic experts and students with a view to promoting technological awareness, capacity building, innovation and entrepreneurship in Dubai.
Award-winning Emirati entrepreneur, Saeed Al Nazari, as well as Quentin Deniaud, Business Developer at Ultimate-UAV, and Terry Johnson, Senior Fire Service Advisor at the Operations Department of Dubai Civil Defence will co-host the forum.
Saeed Al Nazari will shed light on the utility of the drone technology in Dubai while Quentin Deniaud will take a look at its broadened scope and share his views of what lies ahead for this technology. Terry Johnson for his part will highlight how drones have enabled the Civil Defence to evolve their information systems and deliver enhanced operations and services in Dubai.
Commenting on this event, Adnan Al Bahar, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said, "At DSOA, we take pride in hosting a technological forum that informs and educates the public on the latest advances in the sector. We are happy to start 2015 with a subject that has caught the interest of the world and more lately in our own city. The fact that this forum follows the recently concluded ‘UAE Drones for Good' award demonstrates DSOA's commitment in keeping pace with new age technologies. We are confident this forum will contribute to the vision of the emirate's leadership in transforming Dubai into a smart city." A wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises, medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
