Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi (C)
Dubai - Arab Today

Bilateral relations between the Federal National Council, FNC, and the parliaments of the Group of Latin America and Caribbean Countries, GRULAC, would witness more co-ordination, consultations and support in various issues of mutual interest, confirmed Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the FNC, and Ivonne Passada, President of GRULAC.

It will also see promising opportunities to enhance co-operation which embodies the historic relations between the UAE and the Latin American and Caribbean countries.

On the sidelines of the meeting of the 135th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, held recently in Geneva, Dr. Al Qubaisi congratulated Passada for assuming chairmanship of the group which enjoys distinguished relations with the FNC.

She also hailed the development of bilateral parliamentary relations between the FNC and parliaments of the group. They discussed a number of issues they will focus on such as co-operation in the political, economic, investment, renewable energy, cultural fields as well as women empowerment.

They also agreed on activating communication and dialogue channels and turning into reality issues on the agenda discussed during the group's visit to the UAE last January.
