UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum will on Monday open the third edition of the Arab Women Leadership Forum at the Hyatt Hotel. It will be held from Nov.19 to 20 in Dubai. The event is organised by the Dubai Women Establishment, chaired by the wife of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The forum is one of the initiatives launched by the establishment to boost the Emirati woman’s efforts at development. It is held this year under the theme ‘Board of Directors leadership and the importance of diversity.’ Muna Ghanem Al Hajiri, Board Director of the Dubai Women Establishment, said in a statement that “the event comes at an appropriate time to further push the development in our country, following the release of the World Economic Report on bridging the gender gap, in which, for the third successive year, the UAE is ranked first in the Arab world.” The event attracts the elite of women’s leaders from the region. They will brainstorm for two days on practical ideas to sensitise and motivate women to participate in boards of directors, which are usually dominated by men. Participants will also discuss positive governance practices in the Middle East.
