A delegation from the UAE recently participated in the 11th Women’s Forum Global Meeting in Deauville, France, which was attended by over 2,000 delegates from 70 countries. Members of the delegation took part in a series of sessions throughout the three-day event, which explored the UAE’s achievements in women’s empowerment, the role of Emirati women in the clean energy sector and how preserving and reviving artisanal craftsmanship in the UAE is creating job opportunities for Emirati women.
During the event, the delegation met with Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, President of Mauritius, Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, Saeed Salem Al Mazrouei, Diplomatic Attache at the UAE Embassy in France, Hazza Ahmed Al Kaabi, Charge d'Affaires at the UAE Embassy in France, Martine Pinville, French Minister of State for Commerce, Small-Scale Industry, Consumer Affairs and the Social and Solidarity Economy, as well as Boutheina Ben Yaghlane Ben Slimane, Secretary of State at the Tunisian Ministry of Finance, and Philippe Augier, Mayor of Deauville, amongst others.
The UAE delegation included Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Women Establishment board, Hala Badri, CEO of Dubai Women Establishment, Shamsa Saleh, Director of Dubai Ladies Club, Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, Director of the Cultural Office of Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mona bin Kalli, Senior Manager - Strategic Communications at Dubai Media Office, Noora Al-Mansoori, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at DEWA, Khawla Al Muhairi, and Emirati product designer, Khalid Shafar.
