Turkey hosted on Monday the first ‘Commercial Alliance for African Businesswomen’ meeting to boost trade volume between Turkey and ‘rising star’ Africa. The meeting held in Izmir, a city on the Aegean coast, was organized by IZTO, Izmir Chamber of Commerce. Beninese Ambassador to Turkey, Moise Tchando, and businesswomen from the African continent attended the meeting. The participants have informed Turkish counterparts and authorities about the business opportunities in their countries. Africa is the rising star with three thousand years of history and no global power can achieve progress without taking Africa into consideration, said Ekrem Demirtas, president of IZTO. ‘We aim to strengthen our cooperation, built on brotherhood in history, in economics, social and political areas now.’ Turkey has an increasing interest in African nations in recent years and supports them with lots of joint development projects.
