South Korea and Japan have almost agreed to primarily address the issue of wartime sex slaves in their expected talks this month, Seoul's envoy to Tokyo said Monday, brushing aside a Japanese official's skepticism about the meeting. The two nations have been in discussions to hold director-level talks in the middle of this month to explore ways to settle the issue of Korean women sexually enslaved by Japanese soldiers during World War II, who are euphemistically called comfort women. But a Japanese official, requesting anonymity, told reporters a week ago that it is murky if the meeting would take place as the two sides have differed on agendas.
