Sheikha Fatima awards Hind bint Maktoum Distinguished Quran Personality Award

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Mother of the Nation, honoured on Friday Wife of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, with the Distinguished Quran Personality Award.

The closing ceremony of the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Int’l Holy Quran Competition was held at the Culture and Sciences Symposium in Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum .

The honour came in recognition to her precious services to the Holy Quran and support and care to a number of Holy Quran-related events, especially 17th edition of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Quran Contest, a major category of the 13-branch Dubai International Holy Quran Award, DIHQA. Also, Sheikha Hind's directives to print tens of thousands of Holy Quran copies and the launch of Dubai Radio of Quran was recognised and applauded.

Sheikha Hind presented kiswat al-ka'bah, the cloth that covers al-Ka'ba in Makkah, to Sheikha Fatima in recognition to her efforts and multiple contributions to serving Islam and Muslims as well as her initiatives and projects that had significant impact on millions of people across the world.

Sheikha Hind extended thanks and appreciation to Sheikha Fatima for the generous gesture and her support to the competition.

Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikha Khawla Al Suwaidi, wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Sheikha Al Yaziyah bint Saif Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, other Sheikhas, female ministers and key woman leaders.
