Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), has deputised the SCW Deputy President Dr. Shaikha Mariam bin Hassan Al Khalifa to open the Second Exhibition for Women and Labour - Opportunities and Choices’, which will run until October 23 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
More than 80 private and government entities and training institutions are taking part in the three-day event.
Shaikha Mariam affirmed HRH Princess Sabeeka's personal interest in women's work, and ways to increase their involvement in the labour market so as to reduce unemployment rates among female university graduates.
She stressed that HRH Princess Sabeeka has tasked the SCW to follow-up on the issue in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and the private sector in order to work out the best solutions to make sure that those graduates meet the labour market's requirements.
The SCW Deputy President praised the participation of the Labour Ministry, banks, companies, institutions and councils to participate in the exhibition and showcasing of 2880 job opportunities in the private sector and 708b training opportunities for job seekers, praising their strong commitment to providing jobs for women.
She lauded the on-going cooperation between the SCW and Labour Ministry through holding the exhibition aiming to showcase the job opportunities available for female graduates.
She expressed the SCW's constant readiness to provide all kinds of support to the private sector in order to be able of carrying out its duties in employing Bahraini women.
Shaikha Mariam toured the pavilions of the exhibitions and was informed the participants' success stories.
The Second Exhibition for Women and Labour offers a platform for skilled professionals to showcase their talent to the private and public sector while profiling Bahrainis as employees of choice, and providing an opportunity for people with disabilities to meet with potential employers and explore job openings.
The expo features a number of pavilions for private and training institutions interested in supporting entrepreneurship.
It will also include a special pavilion for female inventors, who will present their success stories.
