A Saudi woman said she is willing to sell her kidney in a bid to cope with housing and health care expenditures in the oil-rich Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. \"My mom is old and sick and she should have surgery to remove a tumor from her head, but we can’t afford the costs,\" Um Ahmed told al-Qatif News Network on Saturday. \"Our family is so poor that we ought to live with our mother, brother and brother-in-law in a small rented house.\" Um Ahmed added that \"my brother is illiterate and suffers mental illnesses, therefore, he is unable to find a job.\" Um Ahmed’s difficulties, however, are more than the aforementioned problems. The landlord wants her to evacuate the house because she cannot pay the monthly charges. Saudi Arabia is the biggest oil exporter in the world and has a wealthy economy enough to provide its nationals with relative welfare. Saudi activists believe that the Al Saud royal family corruption has led the country to the place it is nowadays. The regime has been dealing with protests calling for reforms in the corrupted ruling system.
