The wife of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, has extended greetings to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, on the occasion of awarding her the Zayed Medal by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for her national and social roles aimed at enhancing the message of women, childhood and family in the UAE.
Sheikha Hind said it is a prestigious honour which suits the Mother of the Nation, the pride of Arab women and the pioneering symbol who supports women issues and is a symbol of humanitarian work.
Sheikha Hind added that awarding and honouring Sheikha Fatima with the Sheikh Zayed Medal translates her efforts in creative work fields of the Emirati women. She reiterated that the honour coincides with Mother's Day, represents compassion and love for Sheikha Fatima who has always supported Emirati women and deserved to be the Mother of the Nation and the Arabs as well as all human beings. All those who are living in the UAE are in agreement on this fact.
She also expressed her happiness at the honour which also coincides with global celebrations of the International Women's Day and highlighted the Mother of the Nation's pioneering contributions and initiatives. She also shed light on Sheikha Fatima's long history in the humanitarian and other fields, as she has played a pioneering and great role in the field of empowering women.
