The Syrian Social Affairs Ministry, in cooperation with the Damascus Governorate and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, on Tuesday rescued hundreds of children and women who had been held by the armed militant groups in al-Moadamiyeh in Damascus Countryside and moved them out of the town. SANA said all of the children and women were taken in fully-equipped makeshift residential centers. Damascus Countryside Governor Hussein Makhlouf and chairperson of St. Jacob Monastery Fadia al-Laham took part in the initiative, the news agency added. A similar initiative was carried out earlier this month in which around 5 thousand children and women were moved out from the same town into makeshift centers and provided all requirements of decent living and proper health care.
