Human Rights Minister Hoorya Mashhoor met in Geneva on Friday with deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Flavia Pansieri. During the meeting, they reviewed the actions and measures taken by the Yemeni government to protect and promote human rights in the country, including a draft child marriage bill and the approval to the United Nations Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. For her part, Pansieri praised actions taken by the Yemeni government to promote human rights, confirming the High Commissioner office’s readiness to provide technical support to Yemen in the context of possible resources. On the sidelines of the UN Human Rights Council 18th session held in Geneva, the Human Rights Minister also met with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Anders Johnsson. During the meeting, Mashhoor and Johnsson reviewed the most important legislative actions of the transition process in Yemen and the outputs of the national dialogue conference that include constitutional reform and national elections.
