A Northbrook, Ill., family stole millions of dollars of children's items from stores and sold them on eBay in the past decade, prosecutors said Wednesday. Branko Bogdanov, 58, his wife Lela, 52, and daughter Julia, 34, were arrested Tuesday by U.S. Secret Service agents and charged with interstate transportation of stolen goods, a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office said. It added Lela Bogdanov allegedly wore a specially-constructed skirt to aid in stealing the merchandise. The family was arrested after a four-day stealing spree in stores, including Toys R' Us and Barnes & Noble, in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Toys, baby monitors and baby carriers were among the merchandise stolen and then sold on eBay, the statement said. The federal complaint alleges the family sold goods with a total retail value of $7.1 million for a total of $4.1 million in the past decade. The Bogdanovs were arraigned Wednesday. Each could each face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
