Azza Al Qubaisi, founder and CEO of the Arabian Workshop for Jewellery and Gems in Abu Dhabi, took away the first prize for the business category at the Emirates Women Award (EWA) ceremony held on Tuesday night. The event which was organized by Dubai Quality Group (DQG) was held under the patronage and in the presence of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group and Honorary Patron of DQG. Presidents of Businesswomen Councils of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman were also present. In it\'s eighth year, EWA identifies and awards businesswomen for their success and excellence in various fields. \"It was founded to support and encourage businesswomen and professionals to reach excellence, innovation and creativity in different fields in order to enhance their positions at all levels,\" said Saleh Janeeh, chairman of Dubai Quality Group. Azza Suleiman, director of housing department at the Ministry of Public Work also won first prize in the professional category. Other winners included Hala Badri, executive vice president of brand and communications at du and Roopa Sharma, manager of sourcing and qualification at DEWA who both won recognition for the Patron\'s Roll of Honour. \"We are confident that women in such a great country are fully capable of making their mark in the fields of finance and business, and hold the highest positions in all areas, because we are totally convinced that they are able to develop and build the community,\" said Janeeh.
