Arab Tourism Organisation (ATO)'s President Dr. Bandar bin Fahad Al Fuhaid participated in the Kingdom of Bahrain's celebrations marking the International Tourism Day (ITD).
The visit was in response to invitation extended to him by the Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa also Chairperson of 16th session of the Arab Council of Tourism Ministers.
Dr. Al-Fuhaid expressed his delight with this visit and also his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister. He also praised her efforts in developing the Kingdom's tourism sector in particular and the Arab tourism industry in general, noting the Minister's support to development of eco-friendly Arab tourism through the Arab Tourism Organisation
The Minister's emphasized the role of Manama as the Capital of Asian Tourism 2014 in undertaking the role of the point of convergence of cultures and civilizations, especially the Asian Cultures and civilizations.
On International Tourism Day, the Minister saluted the efforts of the Arab Tourism Organisation and the International Tourism Organisation and the International Tourism in boosting tourism as one of the sources of revenues for local societies.
On the sidelines of his visit, Dr. Al-Fuhaid met the Minister and the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism and explored with them further mutual cooperation between the Organisation and the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding training and qualifications programmes as well as investment guarantee through the Islamic Development Bank. Al-Fuhaid was briefed on the Kingdom's Tourism Strategy for the year 2015.
