National Council for Women chief Mervat Talawi said on Sunday that the council has sent a letter to Local Development Minister Adel Labib to appeal to him to end injustice suffered by women in leading positions during the recent period under the overthrown rule of the Muslim Brotherhood. In press statements, Talawi said the step stems from the council\'s role in empowering women and solving their problems. She said a number of complaints have been received by the council from women in different governorates, asking the council to help them restore their leading jobs from which they had been sacked illegally. She said the council seeks to secure articles in the coming constitution to prevent discrimination against women.
