HM the King's Wife also President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, deputized the SCW's Vice President Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa to attend the prize awarding ceremony in conclusion of the Bahrain Grand Contest for Memorisation, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), during which the SCW's Vice President distributed the certificates and awards to 60 winners, 12 arbitration panel members and 10 organising committee members.
On this occasion, Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in supporting Quran memorization centres all over the Kingdom's governorates. She urged students to memorise and to study the Holy Quran and its sciences in order to educate generations upon the tolerant values and teachings of Islam.
She considered the patronage of Her Royal Highness Wife of HM the King as the greatest support to memorisers of the Holy Quran each and every year which reflects the SCW's diligence on supporting such activities that certainly help achieve the objectives National Plan for Revival of Bahraini Woman, boost the effect of education for a lifetime in building a sustainable competitive society on the basis of partnership between man and woman according to the principles of Islamic sharia that covers all walks of life and boost the sense of belonging to the Islamic Umma in general and the Homeland in particular.
