Argentine President Cristina Fernandez expressed her support for the people and government of turmoil-hit Venezuela. "We reach out our supportive hand to all the Venezuelan people," the president said on Friday at a public event in Buenos Aires when commenting on the unrest in the Northern South American country, Xinhua reported. "If someone lost elections, he or she would have another opportunity. But losing an election is not an acceptable reason to threaten a country and a peaceful region," she added, alluding to the Venezuelan opposition Venezuela has been beset with social turmoil since Feb 12, and violent protests in Caracas have left at least three people dead and over 70 others injured. The government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, accusing the right-wing opposition of instigating violence, ordered the arrest of opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, who voluntarily surrendered to the police on Tuesday.
