A teenage girl was gang-raped and burned alive and another teen was gang-raped and strangled in separate incidents, police in India said. Police in both incidents said several arrests have been made, but The Times of India reported Thursday. In the first incident, police said three males attacked a 14-year-old girl in a field Tuesday in the Sirsa Kalaar area in Orai district and took turns raping her. When the victim threatened to tell her family, the attackers set her on fire and fled. Police said the girl\'s older sister, who was not harmed, alerted officials of what happened to the victim, who was taken to a hospital where she died. The teen had burns on more than 80 percent of her body, officials said. The Times reported police arrested relatives of the suspects for questioning and more arrests were expected. The second incident was in Meerut where a 13-year-old girl was kidnapped, raped and strangled to death by three males Wednesday, The Times said. The incident became known after the victim\'s family members searched for her when she went missing after leaving her house for school. The Times said her body was found near a police station. Police said they detained two of the victim\'s classmates and one of their male friends who was seen with them when the girl disappeared.
