A search is currently under way for two male suspects who attempted to mug a female pedestrian in Salmiya recently. The suspects disappeared with their SUV after the Filipina woman refused to let go of her handbag, despite a violent robbery attempt. Police rushed to the crime scene after the victim made an emergency call following the incident. She explained to police that the two stepped out of their vehicle after stopping near her while she was walking in the area. They knocked her to the ground in an attempt to steal her purse. They eventually ran away because she kept a tight grip on her bag. A case was filed for investigations. Teenager raped A National Guard officer accused of sexual assault to a minor is currently being held under investigation. The case was filed at Taima police station by a Ministry of Interior officer who reported that his 16-year-old son was kidnapped and raped at a camp in Salmi. The victim told his father that the suspect forced him inside his car and drove from Oyoun to the remote location where the assault took place. The suspect was identified through the license plate number of his car, and eventually placed under arrest. Despite denying the accusations, he was placed behind bars after the victim identified him as his kidnapper.
