Queen\'s University Belfast, today launched USD 400,000 Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Scholarships for Indian engineering and science students in India. The prestigious scheme, open to 100 talented Indian students who wish to enrol in Post-Graduate Engineering and Science programmes at Queen\'s University in 2012, will entitle each successful recipient to a USD 4,000 Scholarship. Launching the Scholarships Queen\'s University Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Peter Gregson said, \'\'not only will 100 top Indian students have the opportunity to receive one of the prestigious Scholarships, they will also have the benefit of studying at one of UK\'s leading science and engineering universities. This will further enhance their skills and allow them to make a significant contribution to the economic development of India.\'\' \'\'Queen’s has an established and proud history of working closely with industry and is now partnering some of the finest research institutions and universities in India,\'\' he said. He said Chairman Emeritus of Infosys, Mr N R Murthy will deliver a prestigious innovation lecture at Queen’s University in 2012. (UNI)
