Secretary General of the Higher Education and Scientific Research ministry, Hani Dmour, and President of China's University of Geosciences, Wang Yanxin, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a Jordanian-Chinese university in the kingdom.
The MoU includes the preliminary steps and mechanisms for setting up the university, which will comprise three faculties that include 15 majors, in addition to two specialized centers for research, language teaching and diploma programs.
Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Amin Mahmoud, said, ''The establishment of the university is in line with the ministry's efforts to bridge the gap between the educational system output in Jordan in its comprehensive concept with the knowledge economy requirements and align it with the job market." Chinese Ambassador Gao Yusheng said he would provide all means of support and assistance for the success of this pilot project "to meet the ambitions and aspirations of the two countries".
