At least two people were in custody Monday afternoon after a "campus emergency" in the Central Connecticut State University forced the lockdown of the campus, local media reported. According to WFSB-TV, which serves the Hartford area, at least two people are in police custody after a suspicious person carrying a gun was seen on the Central Connecticut State University campus in New Britain on Monday afternoon. The report said students were advised to stay indoors and stay away from windows and the campus was placed into a lockdown around noon. The New Britain Police Department along with police from surrounding towns, state police SWAT and state police major crimes unit were called to the school. Just passed 3 p.m. in the afternoon, the school announced in its official twitter account that the campus was declared all clear, and students are allowed to leave buildings.
