Al Azhar University declared a state of emergency in all hospitals affiliated to it ahead of the planned November 28 protests, Vice President of Al-Azhar University Tawfik Nour el-Din said on Thursday.
In a press release, Nour el-Din said there are five hospitals that are affiliated to Azhar University in Cairo, Damietta and Assuit.
An operation room was formed to follow up the situation, Nour el-Din said.
All doctors were summoned to work in the hospitals starting at 7 a.m. on Friday ahead of the expected protests and violent acts.
