An institute teaching the Korean language will be set up at the University of Bahrain (UoB).
UoB President Riyadh Youssef Hamza signed an agreement with the South Korean Ambassador Koo Hyun-Mo to establish the King Sejong Institute (KSI), a Language Foundation to introduce and teach Korean and Korean culture for learners of Korean language as a foreign language.
UoB Vice President for Academic Programes and Postgraduate Studies Dr Waheeb Isa Al-Nasser, Vice President for Scientific Research Dr. Ali Mansour Al-Shehab and English Learning Centre Dr. Abdulaziz Boulila attended.
“The initiative marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and South Korea”, said Dr. Hamza, stressing keenness on honing the skills of UoB students and enabling them to learn foreign languages.
Citing updated figures, he said that the overall volume of trade exchanges top $700 million per annum.
