Khalifa University has announced its participation in the ongoing Najah Exhibition for Education, Training and Employment, which is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from October 29th - 31st. The Khalifa University stand will provide visitors with information on the university\'s various academic programmes and available scholarships. The university\'s existing students are also showcasing some of their research projects to visitors. The university offers a variety of Masters Degrees in International and Civil Security, Information Security, Nuclear Engineering and M.Sc. Research in Engineering (Electrical and Computer), as well as offering students an option to minor in Nuclear Engineering. The university also offers several new Ph.D. specialisations in engineering, including Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, Biomedical and Robotics. These specialisations are in addition to the existing ones in Communication, Computer and Electronic Engineering. Emirati graduate students also enjoy the benefits of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholarship Programme, Buhooth, which offers students competitive monthly salaries for full time students, health insurance for students and their dependents, covers all tuition fees, study expenses, international conference attendance expenses and provides job placement after graduation. The programme began in October 2007 and it enrolls over 25 Emirati students. Khalifa University also offers an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. The degree focuses on teaching students to plan, design, and supervise the construction of a wide variety of facilities, such as offshore structures, bridges, buildings, tunnels, highways, transit systems, dams, airports, irrigation projects, distribution facilities for water and collection and treatment facilities for wastewater and hazardous waste. Students graduating with this major will have many opportunities to work in several exciting industries in the U.A.E. and around the world, including engineering and construction firms, transport departments, environmental agencies, urban planning councils, the oil and gas industry and the police and armed forces.
