Presidential candidate of the Workers Party (PT) Louisa Hanoune promisedWednesday, in Bejaia (263 km east of Algiers), to undertake a “comprehensive”reform in the university system to particularly give the students the right to choosebetween the classical system and the LMD system (bachelor’s degree, master,doctorate) during their university course.In a popular meeting held in the province’s games hall, Hanoune criticized the LMDsystem which doesn’t meet, according to her, the aspirations of the Algerianuniversity and “doesn’t offer prospects for recruitment to the future graduates.”Hanoune underlined that her party was against the introduction of this importedsystem, which doesn’t “fit with the specificities” of the Algerian university,promising in this regard, to undertake a “comprehensive” reform in the Algerianuniversity system, by offering the students the possibility to choose between theclassical and LMD systems.Hanoune underlined the lack, in this city, of basic infrastructures likely to ensurethe province’s socio-economic development, particularly in the road sector,emphasizing the absence of an urban motorway linking Bejaia to East-Westmotorway.The candidate to the Presidential election of April 17 promised to reconcile theAlgerians with their history, by taking into account its positive and negative aspects.
