Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz lauded the support and care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the Kuwait-based Arab Open University, citing the monarch's generous donation to build all the university buildings in the Arab world. He also thanked Sheikh Sabah Alahmed Aljaber Alsabah, Emir of Kuwait, for granting the land on which the university will build its headquarters and the Kuwait branch. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency to celebrate the university's 10 anniversary, Prince Turki bin Talal said the university, the only with branches in most of the Arab countries, will open branches in Morocco, Palestine, Sudan and Yemen, noting that coordination is underway with the respective governments of those countries to take those moves. He stated that there are branches for the university in each of Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Hail and Al-Ehsa in Saudi Arabia alone, adding that 90 percent of the finance of the university's buildings in the Arab world comes from Saudi Arabia. He lauded the last 10-year plan of the university, which opening of several branches in major Arab countries, like Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon, thanks to the initiator and author of the institution Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of AGFUND and Chairman of the Arab Open University Council of Trustees.
