The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of the Shabaat school in Daw'an District, Hadramaut Governorate, as part of the UAE's sustained programme to enable and rehabilitate vital sectors in Yemen.
"The agreement is part of the ERC's assistance for infrastructure and education projects in the governorate and falls within the UAE's humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people during the current difficult time,'' said Ahmed Al Neyadi, Deputy Head of the ERC in Yemen, who signed the agreement with Shakhmar Contracting Company.
''The school building will be revamped and equipped with facilities, so as to make it ready to welcome students in 40 days,'' he added.
Mohamed Al Zaini, Director of Education Directorate, Daw'an District, expressed his gratitude to the UAE, especially its humanitarian arm ERC for building and rehabilitating government bodies and for supporting the education sector in Hadramaut and other liberated governorates.
