The Little Engineer workshop
Abu Dhabi - WAM

As part of their joint workshop series, Aerospace and Engineering services at Mubadala and Airbus Middle East held an aeronautic focused session at Al Ittihad National Private School in Abu Dhabi. The three-day workshop was designed by The Little Engineer (TLE), in partnership with Airbus Middle East, to promote science and technology amongst the U.A.E.'s youth. The interactive programme hosted over 75 students between the ages of 13-14 years old and will consist of four-hour modules. The workshop in Abu Dhabi introduced students to the Airbus A380 assembly, with an emphasis on the importance of robotics in the aerospace industry. The workshops explored areas including identifying aircraft parts, the assembly process, and transportation procedures. Students learned to be team players, working to reach a common goal by using their creativity and imagination to solve problems and celebrate their achievements. By channelling students' potential through the use of modern technology and innovative thinking, the TLE workshop encouraged students to consider a career in the aerospace industry. Amal Al Jabri, Senior Associate from Mubadala, commented: "At Mubadala, we are committed to developing talent and creating a skilled workforce to support in the development, growth and sustainability of the industries we invest and operate in. We work with partners and educational organisations on the design and implementation of initiatives which attract youth to the exciting careers available to them in the U.A.E.. These workshops have been truly successful and we are looking forward to continuing our work with Airbus.” Fouad Attar, Managing Director at Airbus Middle East, commented: "We've always believed that talent is a key contributor to the future of aviation. Our partnership with The Little Engineer is a direct reflection of our efforts to invest in the regional community. Together with Mubadala, we hope to continue inspiring the young local generation to pursue studies and careers in engineering and aviation.” Fatima Murshed, Principle of Al Ittihad National Private School, said: "We are proud to have partaken in this series, which has provided our students with a valuable experience; exposing them to one of the fastest growing industries in our region. We hope to see some of our students go on to have successful careers in the U.A.E.'s aviation industry.” Aerospace and Engineering Services at Mubadala and Airbus Middle East launched their first robotic workshop series during the Global Aerospace Summit in April 2014, in which approximately 100 students from grades five and six participated.
