His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS)'s First Vice President also Chairman of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) praised the programmes and functions presented by St. Christopher School aimed to boost students capabilities in various sports.
This came as His Highness inaugurated St. Christopher School's new sports facilities.
Upon arrival His Highness was received by the School's Director Edward Goodwin, Vice Chairman Maureen Steven, board members and several administrative and educational staff members.
His Highness inaugurated the school's new gym hall and was briefed on sports programmes and events provided by the school to its students aimed to boost their awareness and include sports activities into everyday daily life in order to increase their efficiency in all aspects and to invest their leisure time and enhance their average health.
His Highness said that the inauguration of the multi-purpose gym hall is considered a translation of the belief on the part of youth and sports officials regarding the importance of supporting sports centres and institutions in the Kingdom which are the main contributories that boost the youth and sports movement, wishing the students success.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa also saw part of the school's team training and the school's triathlon team. He also met members of the triathlon team and expressed his admiration of their distinctive level and urged them to continue their training and to benefit from school sports programmes and functions that will boost their capabilities and qualify them to participate at sports competitions and championships.
