Under the patronage of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, yesterday attended a graduation ceremony hosted by the Dubai Police Academy.
The event celebrated the graduation of the 22nd batch of cadet officers with licenses in Law and Policing Sciences and postgraduate students, Master's and Doctoral levels. A total of 146 cadets graduated from the academy in addition to postgraduate students.
In his address on the occasion, Sheikh Saif said, "You are starting a new phase of life. This phase requires you to toil diligently, driven by the values of positive patriotism in all its forms, and to demonstrate creativity and innovative energy in order to attain your coveted goals in the service of your country and community and to help build your self-worth." Sheikh Saif expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the compassionate father, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the graduation of the new batches of UAE sons, who will join forces with their colleagues to further promote the country's progress and reputation, and maintain its security and stability. He also extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for his dedicated attention to preserving the country's interests and the safety and well-being of society.
Sheikh Saif also commended Sheikh Khalifa's unrelenting support to the Dubai Police Academy's progress since its inception some 25 years ago, as well as his keenness on providing education and training opportunities for students who pursued education and training attainment and obtained postgraduate degrees at the academy, according to the latest international education standards, in their quest to acquire science, knowledge and high-level military skills, maintain the national gains and consolidate security and stability throughout the country.
Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commander General of the Dubai Police, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed and Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai.
He commended the Dubai Police Academy's achievements in the social, scientific, security and community avenues, which gives top priority to the human element and to science attainment, and endeavours diligently to produce highly qualified national cadres, and to prepare them in the best way possible, along with their counterparts from GCC, Arab and Islamic countries, to keep pace with the latest developments and serve their countries, each in their respective field of work or specialisation.
In his speech, Colonel Dr. Ghaith Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Police Academy, said, "It gives us great pleasure to celebrate the graduation of the 22nd batch of cadet students, which includes students from various Arab and Gulf countries. We thank Almighty Allah for blessing both Arab and GCC countries with unity and faith in a common destiny." Colonel Al Suwaidi added that the Dubai Police Academy has always endeavoured to develop and upgrade education and training, to keep abreast of the latest developments, innovations and challenges of today's world. "To achieve this goal, the academy was committed to qualifying graduates scientifically, physically and practically. The years of education have been a boundless source of science, knowledge and all types of skills," he continued.
Present at the ceremony were H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Lt. General Othman bin Nasser Al-Muhrij, Director of Public Security in Saudi Arabia and Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, along with a number of dignitaries, heads of departments and government institutions, police leaders from the UAE and from Arab and friendly countries, in addition to members of the consular corps in Dubai, and a crowd of senior police officers and families of the graduates.
