The Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre (RJGC) and the UN Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology signed an agreement with the Association of Arab Universities to enhance cooperation in the area of academic training partnership in Arab universities.
Under the agreement, conferences and scientific symposia and workshops will be organised and promoted regionally and internationally by the Association. This will equip the Association with maps, satellite and aerial photographs, data and geographical information as well as technical advice in these fields.
RJGC Director General Awni Khasawneh said there is a need to increase Arab and regional coordination and cooperation to review the RJGC's expertise and transfer such know-how to Arab academic institutions.
The geographical center pursued a policy of openness and increasing academic cooperation and training locally and regionally in various fields of cadastral science and spatial techniques through agreements and memorandums of understanding and the exchange of expertise with a number of relevant institutions, Khasawneh added.
Khasawneh pointed out to the importance of this agreement to achieve goals that contribute towards the development of human resources and modern education in Jordan.
