President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi visited on Sunday the Military College, where he was received by Defense Minister Mohammed Nasser Ahmed and Interior Minister Abdu Hussein al-Tareb, Chief of staff Ahmed al-Ashwal and deputy Chief of Staff Abdul Bari al-Shameri.
Hadi delivered a lecture before students of Military, Aviation and Air Defense Colleges along with students of Technical Institute of the Armed Forces, where he talked about the latest developments in the country, as well as the required role must be played to face the current crisis based on the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which formed the major reference to build a new federal Yemen.
"We can clearly describe what occurred in Amran province as an unacceptable and unreasonable act that targets the state and its security apparatus, military forces, and its civil institutions and doesn't target a specific side and brigade, however, it targets the political process and the transitional phase and the NDC outcomes,'' Hadi said.
He added "Unfortunately, some understood our wisdom and patience in dealing with the problem in Amran and other areas as a kind of weakness and foregoing of responsibility and tried to make use of our willingness to end the conflict in a peaceful manner in a cheap way."
Addressing the attendants by saying, it is clear that some powers willing from the conflict and war in Amran to impede the political process completely. Adding we are today willing and intending to implement the NDC outcomes and building the state. "From now on, the state will not let this conflict continue."
Hadi said Houthis and other armed groups must leave with their weapons and give up the arms they had seized. He demanded they also hand over bodies and release prisoners.
