The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) discussed ways to bolster cooperation with the US University of Maryland on Sunday.
At the meeting with Prof. Richard Bissell, the Director of the Center for Emergency Education and Disaster Research (CEEDR) at Maryland University, and JUST Assistant President Dr. Hani Abu Qdeis, participants reviewed advancements made by the Jordanian university in various academic branches, particularly the expansion of scientific research centers and partnerships with various world universities.
The university, Abu Qdeis said, has recently created new specializations to better link the labour market with the academic sector, such as in the health and medical fields.
During his visit to the Science and Technology university, Prof. Bissell delivered a lecture on the latest global trends in health services pertaining to emergency services. He also highlighted the findings of the latest researches in this arena.
Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medicine at JUST, Dr. Yousef Al Qaoud, said that the faculty is enthusiastic about cooperating with key US faculties of medicine to enrich the students' knowledge and brief them on the latest educational methods used at these faculties.
