A jointly-sponsored Kuwaiti-Egyptian forum seeks to boost bilateral ties on a variety of levels, not excluding the commercial, educational, and industrial ones, said a number of officials attending the forum on Wednesday.
Affirming that Egypt hosts more Kuwaiti students than any other country, Samia Al-Rumaih, director of public relations at Kuwait's Ministry of Higher Education, told KUNA that the forum, which ends tomorrow, aims at beefing up educational relations between both countries. She said the forum was an apt resource for students from both countries seeking to improve their educational opportunities in Kuwait and Egypt.
She added that the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait gives guidance and support to Egyptian students with grants offered to them by Kuwait to pursue their courses of study in Kuwaiti schools and colleges.
Malak Subhi, general manager of the Egyptian company Sky Expo which is participating in the forum, told KUNA that the fact that up to 15 official Kuwaiti entities and a bevy of Kuwaiti businessmen were attending the forum was indicative of the seriousness Kuwait accorded its ties with Egypt on numerous levels, particularly the commercial and the industrial.
Sponsored jointly by the Kuwait Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, the forum stresses the need for governmental entities in both countries to work closer together on benefitting the people of both nations.
Among Kuwaiti governmental ministries and agencies at the forum are the ministries of education and higher education, finance, and the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, the National Guard, Kuwait Airways Company, and The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. On the Egyptian side the chambers of commerce of Cairo and Giza are represented in the forum, among others.
