An Egyptian delegation of the Supreme Council of Universities met on Thursday with a British delegation of the British council to discuss boosting cooperation in the higher education field.
The Egyptian delegation includes Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities professor Hatem Amin, Banha University President Ali Shams el Deen and Ain Shams University President Hussein Issa.
The British delegation groups Chief Executive Officer of the British Council Ciarán Devane, British Council Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Adrian Chadwick, Director of the British Council in Egypt Mark Stevens and the Times prominent writer Michael Binion.
In a statement, Banha university president said that the meeting touched on evaluating contracts concluded between Egypt and Britain in the higher education area, supporting educational projects that could benefit Egypt in developing the educational system and institutions.
The two delegations mulled over increasing joint programs and partaking in scientific research programs funded by the British side, the application of the best quality standards in the educational field as well as improving skills of English language at Egyptian universities, he added.
