Minister of National Education Nouria Benghebrit officially launched Sunday morning from Ghardaia the new school year 2014-2015, on behalf of Prime Minister Abdelmalem Sellal.
The Minister chaired a symbolic ceremony at Alfarasstai high school in the town of El Ateuf to announce the opening of this new school year under the slogan "Education and Citizenship to strengthen the unity of the Nation and the homeland."
Before an audience composed of various partners of Education, parents and local officials and in the presence of Benghebrit, a course on unity and national constants was taught by two teachers (a former and a new one).
On this occasion Benghebrit, insisted on the need to provide quality education to students.
The Minister will also inspect the conduct of the school year at a few schools in the new urban centers of Oued N'chou and Metlili.
In the province of Ghardaia, no fewer than 50,318 pupils in primary schools, including 9 new 136 enrolled in the first year of primary school, 32,404 in the middle schools and 18,742 students in high schools were to join the class at 179 primary schools , 60 colleges and 26 high schools, according to data from the local education directorate.
