President of HRH Premier's Court Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa received here today a delegation from Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), led by its President and Chief Executive Dato' Dr. Zainal Abidin Yusof.
he meeting was attended by the Malaysian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Ahmed Shahizan Abdul-Samad and Assistant Under-Secretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ahmed Al Khayat.
Shaikh Hussam lauded the deep-rooted bilateral relations, expressing hope to consolidate joint cooperation in new areas so as to serve the best interests of the two countries.
They reviewed areas of joint cooperation, in light of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and SIRIM regarding exchange of information and expertise.
Shaikh Hussam affirmed the keenness of the government on upgrading the construction sector, commending Malaysia's advanced level of expertise in the fields of industrial and construction research.
The Malaysian ambassador lauded the friendly bilateral ties, affirming his country's keenness on enhancing these ties in all fields.
SIRIM President expressed aspiration to cooperate with Bahrain in order to promote the urban and modern progress.
