The Directorate of Sport, Scouts and Guides held its final ceremony (2014-2015) at the Education Ministry’s hall in Isa Town.
Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi patronized the ceremony and presented the winning schools with the cups of sport excellence, in the presence of principals, teachers and other scout staff.
Dr. Al-Nuaimi addressed the ceremony, paying tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for patronizing the Bahrain First Festival.
He stressed the importance of sport activities in building students’ personalities and instilling their loyalty and spirit of belonging on the basis of cooperation and tolerance in the school community.
Sport Education, Scouts and Guides director Dr. Shikha Youssef Al-Jeeb also addressed the ceremony, pointing out that a total of 32,626 students, scouts and guides took part in different activities during the school year (2014-2015).
Dr. Al-Nuaimi then honoured sport teachers, scouts and guides personnel and distributed the minister’s cups of sport excellence to the outstanding schools.
