Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar has affirmed BOC's keenness on organising the second edition of school Olympics, in line with the vision of His Majesty the King's Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa of activating school sports.
He said that BOC aims to promote the Olympics culture in the society, which is one of the Olympic Charter's objectives.
This came during the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee of the second edition of school Olympics, organised by BOC and the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The panel discussed the future work plan, including coordination and cooperation with MoE to hold the session on April 21-30, prepare the budget and request private companies and enterprises for sponsorship.
BOC Project Manager and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee Maden Alwanas that public and private schools will take part in the session, pointing out that the committee will activate the role of marketing and media in the second edition.
