Thirty-three Angolan students on Tuesday graduated from the mechanical engineering department of the Chinese-funded Centiennial Vocational School after six-month employment training.
A brief graduation ceremony was held at the school located at Kilamba Kiaxi, a satellite city to the capita Luanda and the students sang Chinese songs to celebrate their graduation day.
The school, formally inaugurated in May jointly by Angolan Vice President Manuel Vicente and visiting Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, currently has 90 Angolan students.
The school, the first Chinese-funded vocation school in Angola, provides free employment training and boarding for young Angolan adults, and ley subjects at the school were electrical and mechanical engineering - skills that are urgently needed in Angola.
The school was solely sponsored by China's Citic Construction company, the main contractor and builder of the Kilamba Kiaxi project with about 700 high-rise buildings and basic infrastructures.
The new graduates were expected to practise their apprenticeship with sub-contractors of the Kilamba Kiaxi project.
