International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (MILSET) Asia Office announced Saturday that 68 schools from across Kuwait have signed up for the 9th annual industrial applications competition for school students (2014-2015).
The competition is being co-organized by the MILSET Asia Office and the educational development sector of the Ministry of Education, according to a statement by the office.
The first stage of the competition was held last week with 111 students from 37 middle schools and 93 students from 31 high schools taking part.
A total of 90 pupils from 30 elementary schools are expected to join the activities this week, according to the statement.
The competition reflects the vital role of school activities in realizing the goals of constructive education and exploring and fostering the technical talents of students.
The ultimate objective of the competition is to promote the industrial development and galvanize the students into innovative action in such areas as science, engineering and technology.
