Dubai School children will be able to exhibit their innovative skills and creativity at the Dubai Children’s Science Congress, which has been organised by the Dubai Municipality in association with the Friends of Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad, on Saturday at Al Ahli Club. Children between the age of 12 and 17 will get to present their projects in front of scientists, teachers and other students. Hamdan Khalifa Al Shair, Director of environment Department, said this year the Science Congress would focus on the importance of environment protection, one of the most relevant issues that has its bearing on the existence of earth. “The realisation that the present market-oriented competition makes our children self-centered and non-committal to social problems is the driving force behind such a group research programme. The focus of the Science Congress is on collective and social use of creative talents. Children will be encouraged to work in groups and directed towards issues like environmental protection and similar issues of the society they live in,” said Al Shair.from gulfnews.com
