Tamkeen announces that the upcoming workshops for its Training and Education Performance Support (TEPS) programme, which seeks to empower institutions in Bahrain’s training and education sector to apply international best practices and up-skill Bahrainis employed in this sector, are quickly approaching full capacity. The programme, which is conducted by Third Wave International (TWI), is part of Tamkeen’s Human Capital Development initiatives which seek to enhance the capabilities of Bahrainis and make them employees of choice. To date, the programme has served 280 individuals and has witnessed a steady uptick in demand. Nearly 900 applications have been received from interested participants for the upcoming workshops which includes 15 training modules. A limited number of seats are still available, and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The rise in demand is due in large part to the immense advantages reaped by the beneficiaries of the programme. Maha Al-Shorbagi who attended the “Special Education and Inclusion” workshop stated; “The workshop was very well organised and our trainer was excellent. I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to attend and benefit from the programme”. Another participant from the same workshop Wejdan Al-Mutawa said, “I would like to thank all who worked and prepared for the workshop, I had a great opportunity. It was a very rich experience and I’m sure it will support me in my job. Dr. Ahmed Al-Obaidli who attended “Measuring Learner’s Progress” commented, “It was all very well done. I enjoyed all the great discussions and thought we had a very experienced trainer.” The workshops cover a wide range of topics pertaining to international best practices in training and education, from initial curriculum design to final assessment. The topics have been designed to cater to a broad cross-section of individuals in the field, including owners, management personnel, teachers, facilitators, lecturers and trainers, student advisors, career counsellors, administrative and support staff, and registration and student services personnel. Topics covered in the upcoming 15 workshops include: Instructional and Teacher Effectiveness, Assessment of Learners, Quality Management Systems, and Teaching and Learning. Some of these workshops have been customised to meet the requirements of higher education institutes. “The number of those served and empowered by Tamkeen’s support initiatives such as the Training and Education Performance Support programme is indicative of the sound strategy behind these initiatives which is firmly based on assessing and addressing real market needs,” said Acting Vice President for Human Capital Development in Tamkeen Mrs. Amal Al-Kooheji. “The overwhelming response is also indicative of the strong desire and enthusiasm by Bahrainis to expand their horizons and enhance their skills and capabilities.” “As a key stakeholder of this programme, Third Wave International takes justifiable pride in the strong results – above and beyond expectations – that the programme has already delivered so far,” Third Wave International Joint Managing Director/CEO, Dilip de S. Wijeyeratne said. “TWI takes pride in elevating skills of Bahrain’s workforce by supporting Tamkeen in its endeavours.” Representatives from training and education institutes who wish to register for the workshops or wish to gain more information on the programmes offered can contact TWI on Mobile – 39022767, Office – 17292436 or can direct their inquiries to (teps@twibahrain.com) or register online on (www.teps.tamkeenpartners.net).
