Saudi students have won five medals including a gold, in addition to special awards, for their innovative scientific projects at Innova international exhibition, which concluded in Brussels on Saturday. About 300 innovations from 15 countries were on display at the annual show, which attracted more than 4,000 professional visitors. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Anazi from Dar Al-Uloom Schools in Riyadh received the gold medal and the European Inventors Award for inventing a device that would be useful for type one diabetic patients. Lamya Al-Asheikh from Tuwaiq Schools in Riyadh received a silver medal for inventing a special type of pen while Tasnim bint Hamza Hadi from Madinah got a silver medal, the best project award and a medal from the Romanian Commission for Scientific Research for inventing a safety walker for children. Ranim bint Talal Al-Wasidi of Rayan Model School in Madinah received a silver medal for developing a special mask for asthma patients. The fifth project presented by Shua bint Hamad Al-Marry and Radaa bint Fahd Al-Marry from Al-Ahsa received silver medals in addition to a special award from the Romanian commission for developing a special fan that can remove harmful gases from kitchens and restaurants to protect environment.
