Teachers of Syria on Wednesday marked the Arab Teacher\'s Day, more determined to continue their sublime mission and important role in developing their countries by shaping generations to make a better future. Despite all the subversive attempts by the terrorists to undermine the educational process in Syria, the Syrian teachers continue to face these criminal acts letting nothing stop them from committing to attendance at schools, institutes and universities as usual and performing their national duty. Education Minister, Hazwan al-Wazz, said in a statement to SANA that \"This year the Arab Teacher\'s Day acquires a special importance with the homeland being subject to a war waged by advocates of ignorance and enemies of education.\"At this time, al-Wazz added \"the Syrian teachers stand steadfast defending their school, students, the book and the seat.\" According to figures of the Education Ministry, 179 school teachers were martyred due to the crimes of the armed terrorist groups, and around 2445 schools were subject to damage. Over 300 workers in the education field were also subject to acts of abduction among others at the terrorists\' hands. On this occasion, the executive office of the Teachers Syndicate issued a statement in which it stressed that the Syrian teachers will continue performing their duty and contribute to defeating their homeland\'s enemies no matter how great the conspiracy could get.
